Grease is the word! Full casting is announced for the hit 70s musical, which returns this year to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Monday 27 November - Saturday 2 December.

Grease is the word! The original West End production of the electrifying musical, Grease, lights up the UK once again as it embarks on a national tour, opening at the Palace Theatre Manchester on Friday 10 March 2017. The cast will be led by international pop star Tom Parker (The Wanted) in his first ever theatrical role, heart-throb Danny Zuko.

If there is one sure sign that Christmas has truly arrived, it's the inescapable onslaught of the pantomime season. Theatres across the country ring to the shouts of 'he's behind you', the boos and hisses, and the singalong family favourites. Often acclaimed as the UK's biggest pantomime, Birmingham Hippodrome present a first class production every single year, and 2016 is no exception. The magical pantomime adventure Dick Whittington stars John Barrowman as the eponymous hero, alongside Steve McFadden (King Rat), Jodie Prenger (Fairy Bowbells) and The Krankies. 

To celebrate the opening of Dick Whittington in Birmingham, principal cast members JOHN BARROWMAN, STEVE MCFADDEN, THE KRANKIES, JODIE PRENGER, MATT SLACK, ANDREW RYAN and DANIELLE HOPE took to the Birmingham Hippodrome stage for a fairy-tale appearance earlier this afternoon in countdown to the opening performance at 2.30pm on Monday 19 December. Tom Parker rose to fame as a member of band The Wanted. He's now taking on his first theatrical role, starring as Danny Zuko in the UK tour of musical Grease, along with Danielle Hope, Louise Lytton and Darren Day. The tour kicks off in Manchester in March 2017.

Grease is the word! The hit 70s musical returns in 2017 for a UK tour, stopping off in Glasgow on Tuesday 9 May for 11 nights. Tom Parker (The Wanted) will be making his musical theatre debut playing Danny Zuko, Danielle Hope (Over the Rainbow winner) will be playing Sandy, and Louisa Lytton (Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders) is taking on the role of Rizzo. 

With less than one month to go until the opening of Birmingham's favourite pantomime, Qdos Entertainment and Birmingham Hippodrome are delighted to announce that West End actress and singer DANIELLE HOPE will join JOHN BARROWMAN, STEVE MCFADDEN, THE KRANKIES, JODIE PRENGER and MATT SLACK in this year's magical, festive production of Dick Whittington from Mon 19 Dec 2016 - Sun 29 Jan 2017. 

On Sunday 11th December, Giggin4Good returns with 'Christmas goes...POP!', an evening of festive songs and Christmas number ones, all performed by an array of West End talent - headlined by Danielle Hope, Dianne Pilkington and Kieran Brown.

Today in 1903, The Wizard of Oz opened at the Majestic Theatre, where it ran for 293 performances. Based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, which was originally published in 1900, much of the original music was by Paul Tietjens and has been mostly forgotten, although it was still well-remembered and in discussion at MGM in the late 1930s, when the classic film version of the story was made. The main plot of the show, as recounted in newspapers of the time, is Pastoria's attempts to regain the throne from the Wizard of Oz. The original protagonists' search for the Wizard puts them on the wrong side of the law. Since then, many new incarnations have been created, including the 1939 film, and the 2011 West End musical.
