The Board of Directors of The National Ballet of Canada today announced that following a two-year international search, Hope Muir has been appointed Artistic Director of the company effective January 1, 2022.

The Royal Ballet is continuing its commitment to create opportunities for the next generation of dance professionals and today announced joiners for the 2021/22 Season. This year they welcome four dancers to the Company from The Royal Ballet School: Olivia Findley, Ava May Llewellyn, Viola Pantuso and Alix Van Tiggelen. 

In the third week of the 2021 Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Ballet Hispánico makes its fifth appearance at Jacob's Pillow with a program encompassing five decades of lush and virtuosic dance from July 14-18 on the Henry J. Leir Stage.

Los Angeles-based CONTRA-TIEMPO will perform on the Henry J. Leir Stage during the second week of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, fusing Salsa, Afro-Cuban, hip-hop, and contemporary dance into a theatrical performance titled joyUS justUS, from July 7-11.

After seven years, artistic leader for dance and choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will be making the move from Opera Ballet Vlaanderen to Le Grand Théâtre de Genève in Switzerland. From the summer of 2022, he will become the artistic director of the ballet company there.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced the 2021/22 season, marking the company’s 70th anniversary and return to the stage after more than 20 months. It will also be the final season programmed by Ms. Kain before she steps down as Artistic Director on June 30, 2021, as previously announced.

Following the recent presentation of works by Crystal Pite and Kyle Abraham, George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, The Royal Ballet continues to share a broad range of classics and new work across this Season and into the next, shining a light on the Company's rich history and vibrant future as it turns 90.

Dorrance Dance and Paris Opéra Ballet will kick off Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival 2021 in its opening week later this month. Dorrance Dance's performances mark the first live, in-person performances at the Pillow since 2019, while at the same time Paris Opéra Ballet will stream exclusively online for two weeks - a first for the Festival.

Miami City Ballet (MCB) welcomes nine new dancers to the company, bringing this season's roster to 53. Continuing the week that dance returned to the UK, the Royal Ballet favoured a contemporary focus with a mixed bill under the banner title, 21st Century Choreographers. As if the occasion needed further anticipation, earlier that day both immediate and upcoming promotions were announced, with First Soloists Fumi Kaneko and Mayara Magri making the step up to Principal. As at Sadler’s Wells the night before, there was giddy applause and foot-stamping as we were welcomed to the performance and a spontaneous standing ovation before anyone had danced a step: heart-swelling stuff.

Director of The Royal Ballet Kevin O'Hare today announces promotions for The Royal Ballet's 2020/21 Season and the forthcoming 2021/22 Season.

After five months, the Royal Ballet will welcome back audiences to the Royal Opera House on Tuesday with '21st Century Choreographers.'

Following a year that nobody wants to revisit anytime soon, Artistic Director Peter Boal has optimistically announced the line-up for Pacific Northwest Ballet’s 49th season, running from September 2021 to June 2022.

The Royal Ballet returns to live performances on Tuesday 18 May at 7pm after an absence of five months with 21st Century Choreographers, a celebration of some of today's finest international choreographers. 

Marie-Joëlle Tremblay, General Manager, and the entire board of directors of BJM-Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal have announced the appointment of Alexandra Damiani as the company's new Artistic Director.
