Bruce Dern, Melissa Rauch and Horatio Sanz Join New Showtime Comedy Series BLACK MONDAY

The new SHOWTIME comedy BLACK MONDAY is adding to its guest star lineup with Emmy®and two-time Oscar® nominee Bruce Dern (Big Love), Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) and Horatio Sanz (Saturday Night Live, Glow) signing on, along with Julie Hagerty (Airplane, Instant Family), Vanessa Bell Calloway (SHAMELESS, Saints & Sinners), Tim Russ (iCarly) and Jason Michael Snow (Book of Mormon). The 10-episode series is executive produced and stars Emmy® nominated and Golden Globe® winning actor Don Cheadle and stars two-time Tony® Award nominee and Grammy® winner Andrew Rannells (Girls) and Regina Hall (Girls Trip). Paul Scheer (The League) also stars. Creators David Caspe (Happy Endings)and Jordan Cahan (My Best Friend's Girl) serve as executive producers and showrunners. Emmy nominees Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher, Superbad) are executive producers and directed the pilot. Currently in production, BLACK MONDAY will premiere in January.

Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. The program of more than 140 narrative features, documentaries, episodic series and shorts runs from October 24-30 at the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center in New York City.

Jaffrey's River Street Theatre (a project of The Park Theatre) has become part of the New York Film Critics Series of 'sneak preview' premieres of the best new independent films. The films are accompanied with interviews of the stars and the film creators. Film critic Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) is the host. The first 'sneak preview' the River Street Theatre will present is American Dresser starring Tom Berenger (Platoon, Someone To Watch Over Me, Gettysburg) Keith David (Crash, Barbershop, Armageddon), Gina Gershon, Penelope Ann Miller (The Artist), Jeff Fahey (Silverado)and Bruce Dern (Nebraska, Coming Home). It will be shown only once, Friday, September 21 at 7pm.

Sobini Films announced today that Oscar®-nominee James Cromwell, two-time Oscar®-nominee Bruce Dern and award-winning actress Naturi Naughton have joined Dayo Okeniyi in the cast in the Civil War-era EMPEROR, directed by Mark Amin, the veteran producer and former Vice Chairman of Lionsgate. Harry Lennix, Kat Graham, Ben Robson and Keean Johnson have also joined to round out the cast. Cromwell and Dern will play John Brown and Levi Coffin, respectively, two of the great heroes of the American abolitionist movement. Naughton plays the role of "Sarah Green," the wife of abolitionist and runaway slave Shields Green. The film is produced by Reginald Hudlin for Hudlin Entertainment and by Cami Winikoff and Amin for Sobini, with a script co-written by Amin and Pat Charles. Sobini's Tyler Boehm is executive producing. UTA is handling domestic sales. EMPEROR is currently in production in Savannah, Georgia.

The festival includes 35 U.S., international and documentary features, as well as other programming, to kick-off its 12th festival season.
