Jack Garfein, one of the film and theater industry's leading acting teachers, has reopened his acting studio in NYC. Garfein played a key role at the Actors Studio and in the development of the Actors Studio, West and The Strasberg Theatre Institute. On Theater Row, he created the Harold Clurman and Samuel Beckett Theaters. Over the years Garfein produced and directed over 20 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions and directed the groundbreaking films, THE STRANGE ONE and SOMETHING WILD.
KISS ME KATE Screens in 3-D at Film Forum

"3-D Auteurs," a 19-day, 34-film festival spotlighting stereoscopic movies by some of history's most distinguished directors, will run at Film Forum from Friday, November 11 through Tuesday, November 29. The festival spans 3-D's earliest days (including some turn-of-the-century films by pioneer Georges Melies) to the present, and represents virtually every genre, including Westerns, Film Noir, and Science Fiction.

It looks like Kristin Chenoweth may be returning to Broadway sooner than we thought! I recently had the opportunity to talk to the Kristin about a variety of topics. She filled me in about her next big project, I Am Anne Hutchinson, and shared some insights into the expectations of Hollywood, specifically for women. Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.

The Vineyard Theatre today announced that their 2016 Gala will honor Vineyard Board President and award-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant and New York theatrical press agent Sam Rudy. The annual Gala Fundraiser will take place on Monday, March 14, 2016, beginning at 6:30pm, at Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).
