FINDING NEVERLAND, launches its first national tour at Shea's Buffalo Theatre from October 7-15, 2016.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

The annual Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, were announced today during the Broadway League's 2016 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

Anthony C. Conte, the president of Shea's Performing Arts Center since March, 2001, will receive two awards within the next two months.   Conte recently announced his retirement effective at the end of this 2015-16 Season at Shea's.

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. Shea's Smith Theatre is hosting everyone's favorite Tupperware lady, Dixie Longate, for the rest of this week and anyone yearning for some strong belly laughs, groans, and an all around 90 minutes of hilarity should head downtown. Dixie has been in town before in DIXIE'S TUPPERWARE PARTY, and this time she treats us to her newest show, NEVER WEAR A TUBE TOP WHILE RIDING A MECHANICAL BULL--AND 16 OTHER THINGS I LEARNED WHILE I WAS DRINKING LAST THURSDAY. High brow art it is not, but this low brow comedy is done so right one can't help but be sucked in.

Anthony C. Conte announced today that he will retire as President of Shea's Performing Arts Center, effective at the end of the 2015-16 Season.  Mr. Conte will, however, remain employed by Shea's after his retirement as a part-time consultant working on special projects.

The First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, presented by Shea's Performing Arts Center and Albert Nocciolino, premieres at Shea's Buffalo Theatre November 3-8.  Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will play at Shea's Buffalo Theatre, November 3-8.

Actor/Playwright Frank Ingrasciotta will perform his acclaimed one-man play Blood Type: RAGU next at the 2015 Winnipeg Fringe Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. 

Disney Theatrical Productions, Shea's Performing Arts Center, and Albert Nocciolino announced today that tickets for the highly anticipated Buffalo engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public today, June 20th at 10:00 AM. Tickets start at $35.  The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at Shea's Buffalo Theatre on September 29th for a limited engagement of one week through October 4th as a part of the M&T Bank 2015-16 Broadway Series.
