Erika Phoebus' RUSALKA Premieres At The 10th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity


The audience is invited to eavesdrop on the vibrant and perilous world of RUSALKA. Blending history with the atmosphere of an underground speakeasy, this world is brought to life by the bar's live house band, playing an eclectic selection of music from the WWII era as well as stylized interpretations of modern music meant to invoke the fire & frenzy of a world at war. The story revolves around two young sisters infiltrate an underground bar catering to jazz-loving Nazis who find an escape in the music they are meant to forbid. One SS Lieutenant in particular welcomes a sweet romance, though the sisters have been tasked to seduce him to a darker fate. The nearby woods await revenge as music, dancing, boozing and secrets weave together to unlock this wild tale of youthful resistance.

Mandy Murphy's VALER Receives Staged Reading for Lone Star Theatre Co.


Mandy Murphy's VALER will receive a staged reading for Lone Star Theatre Company on October 17. Directed by Daniel McGowan, the new play centers around Burnett Family: three generations of born and bred small-town Texans. Whether they've bought into life in Paducah or have chosen to run from it, all of them have long been set in their ways, but an untimely death of a young cousin forces everyone to reevaluate. Will they soldier on as before, or will they change?

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Announces 2012 Summer Tour


Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents the 2012 Shakespeare in the Park Tour throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, including the new Washington Park in OTR. CSC will present touring productions of "The Tempest" and "Macbeth" at local community parks and venues for audiences to enjoy at no cost beginning in August.
