As one of the lucky October-born people, the celebration of Halloween has always been a very important occasion for me as it is just a handful of days after my birthday. Growing up enjoying playing dress-up at this time of year always brought out my imagination into the realm of spirits, goblins, and how I just assumed they lived together with us in this world. So at this time of year, I have always wanted to attend the annual GHOSTWALK an in the streets production held in Santa Paula which brings to life encounters with local sprits who share the history of unique locations in the lovely quaint town. And now virtually I have - and so should you!

The Santa Paula Theater Center has announced two virtual acting classes beginning mid October to be taught by industry professionals who are also familiar faces on the SPTC Stage.  Monologue Mania is an adult acting class taught by Taylor Kasch running Monday evenings from October 12 a?" November 16, 2020.  Teen Talk is an acting class for teens ages 13-19 taught by Jessi May Stevenson running Wednesday evenings from October 14 a?" November 18, 2020. All classes will be taught virtually using the Zoom platform.

The Santa Paula Theater Center will present the warmly humorous and timely comedy/drama COMPLICATIONS FROM A FALL by Kate Hawley on its Main Stage, 125 South 7th Street in historic downtown Santa Paula. This production will run from April 12- May 19, 2019 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm. The SANTA PAULA THEATER CENTER announces auditions for the first show its 2016 season, THE OTHER PLACE by SHARR WHITE. TAYLOR KASCH directs. Auditions will be held at the Center, 125 So 7th Street in downtown Santa Paula (corner of Main St. and 7th St.) on Tuesday, Dec. 8th 7-9 pm and Sat., Dec. 12 1-4pm.

When you walk into the plain storefront that serves as the home for The Flying H Group Theatre Company, you have to do a double-take to make sure you're in the right place. A narrow foyer gives way to a larger back room, which resembles an auto mechanic's workshop. Meticulously detailed right down to the hand tools, cans of motor oil, and ads for car batteries, the set perfectly resembles the average American do-it-yourselfer's garage. This is the setting for Small Engine Repair, a brilliantly written tale of vengeance penned by playwright John Pollono, which had a successful Off-Broadway debut two years ago. The Santa Paula Theater Center presents the Pulitzer Prize Nominated FOOL FOR LOVE by Sam Shepard on its Main Stage from June 27-Aug. 3rd as the third entry in its 2014 Season. Regular performances are on FRIDAY AND SATURDAY EVENINGS AT 8PM AND SUNDAY MATINEES AT 4PM. FOOL FOR LOVE finds transient lovers May and Eddie in a seedy motel at the edge of the Mojave desert fighting for their lives in a ruthless struggle for power and truth. At once, both funny and horrific, this is Shepard at his finest as he explores love and loss in this explosive tale.

Rubicon offers process-oriented acting classes for kids (beginning at age five) and adults. These programs focus on developing skills and technique, basic theatre terminology, building confidence and stage presence, learning proper voice techniques and developing an awareness of body language through character work, and other fundamental techniques through improvisation, scene study and theatre games.
