David Taylor-Gomes and Kyle Holmes have done it again. After collaborating on their 2017 musical comedy, Boxed Up: The Musical, they have joined forces at Granite Bay High School to present to you another original work. This time, in a shockingly serendipitous twist, Ranked, A New Musical debuted just weeks after news of the college admissions scandal broke. Ranked highlights the pressures that students today face to succeed.

In 1970, John-Michael Tebelak's master's thesis, Godspell, was first performed at Carnegie Mellon. Then in 1971, after a run at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, Stephen Schwartz was hired to re-score the show before being produced off-Broadway. Godspell, which is primarily based on parables from the Gospel of Matthew (with a few from the Gospel of Luke and one from John), has had several revivals and numerous tours. Audiences can enjoy a unique interpretation of Godspell at Prima opening April 5th. To find out more about this upcoming production, I spoke with director J. The Classics Theatre Project's preview performance of "The Cherry Orchard" on Friday, June 22 at 8 pm will be a Pay What You Can performance with proceeds from the evening donated to The Suicide and Crisis Prevention Center of North Texas.

Second Thought Theatre closes its 2015 season with one of William Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, Othello. Joel Ferrell's intimate and immersive production starring Tyrees Allen in the title role opens with previews on Wednesday, July 15 and runs through Saturday, August 8. All performances of Othello will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Othello can be purchased online at 2TT.co.
