THE PROM concludes it's National tour in Buffalo this week as the big show with lots of heart took to the Shea's Buffalo stage. The first production of the 2022-23 M & T Bank Broadway Season is not an instantly recognizable name to theatre goers, despite having had a one year run on the Great White Way and a Hollywood A-List Netflix movie starring Meryl Streep.

The Prom is a musical comedy about big Broadway stars on a mission to change the world and the love they discover that unites them all. The show makes its Kansas City debut at Starlight Theatre September 13-18 as part of the AdventHealth Broadway Series. 

Though fused with the pop sounds of the latest Broadway grab toward tween-friendly franchises, Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin’s score has a heart that leans more toward the unabashed sincerity of The Pajama Game or The Music Man than the more saccharine offerings from the current scene.

The National Tour of The Prom has indefinitely postponed their remaining performances of the show at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland. The musical announced that there are multiple cases of Covid-19 within the company, causing the cancellations. The Prom was set to play eight total performances at the Hippodrome from January 18th through the 23rd. However, five out of the eight shows were unfortunately postponed.

there's hardly a joke that misfires, hardly a dance step that doesn't thrill, and hardly a song that doesn't connect. It all works together, and the audience will leave utterly sated. Not to miss.

The Prom, playing at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater through January 16th, is an old school, classic Broadway Musical that is a must see.
