Northern Stage has announced a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support the development of the world premiere production of ‘Bov Water, playing January 25 – February 12 in the Byrne Theater at the Barrette Center for the Arts in White River Junction, Vermont, as part of Northern Stage’s 25th Anniversary Season.

Sister Act opens Music Theatre Wichita's season, directed by Mark Madama and choreographed by Robert Hartwell. Mr. Madama is Associate Professor of Musical Theatre at the University of Michigan, with a host of directing credits, both in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Hartwell's numerous Broadway performing credits include Motown, Nice Work If You Can Get It (Astaire Award nomination) and Bette Midler's original company of Hello, Dolly!, and he is the founder and director of 'The Broadway Collective.' Scenic designer Adam Koch will join the team to consult on the sets he designed for the Ogunquit Playhouse.

That is not the case with the Pollard Theatre Company's current production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. No waffling or wavering here. Adapting any children's book for the stage is likely to be a tricky proposition. By their very nature, kids' books are filled with challenging settings and characters, from talking animals to fantastical locations to entire magical worlds that come right out of the most vivid and playful imaginations. Having said that, it's hard to imagine any production of a stage version being as well-produced and successfully achieved as the one currently playing at the Lyric Theatre's Plaza Theatre.

Back by popular demand, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will present its hit, Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, October 16 through November 2 at the Plaza Theatre. The production comes on the heels of Lyric's wildly successful run of summer shows. With direction by Matthew Alvin Brown and choreography by Chris Castleberry, the show will be the interactive, live, musical version of the cult classic.
