At the end of the year-long, celebratory 100th anniversary season of Theatre Memphis, a long-awaited black tie gala event, Puttin' on the Glitz, May 20, 2022, will be what Executive Producer Debbie Litch calls, “the party of the century”.

Opera Memphis is continuing its 30 Days of Opera series in April, with Opera For Animals!

Opera Memphis returns to Playhouse on the Square for Midtown Opera Festival 2020, and this year it's all about Mozart! Anchored by the comedic opera Così fan tutte, this year's festival will include new fringe events like Mozart After Dark, Bastien & Bastienne, and Mozart: Lost and Found - a concert with Memphis Symphony Orchestra - as well as classic favorites like Cartoons & Cereal and the Closing Cast Party. This April, Opera Memphis' seventh annual Midtown Opera Festival will be anchored by premiere performances of The Falling and the Rising, a new American opera written by Memphis playwright Jerre Dye and composed by Opera Memphis favorite Zach Redler.

Three Memphis Tenors… and a Baritone, a fun and original cabaret performance as part of a Summer Showcase, opens at Theatre Memphis in the Next Stage July 7 and runs through July 23, 2017. Featuring four Theatre Memphis mainstay performers, Philip Himebook, Charles McGowan, Joseph Lackie, and Charles 'Chuck' Hodges, Theatre Memphis has created its very own version of the The Three Tenors but with a twist.  With favorites primarily from Broadway and opera, musical director Jeff Brewer has conceived an evening that will unite the best and brightest voices for the perfect summer offering.

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS runs now through April 3, 2016, on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis. This storybook fantasy is a musical journey with an original story based on several Brothers Grimm fairy tales. A childless baker and his wife set out on a mission to begin a family but must break a Witch's curse. Their travels bring them to interact with characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Jack & the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more. There were several reasons that I almost denied myself the pleasure of attending DeSoto Family Theatre's new production of Boublil and Schonberg's LES MISERABLES, the epic (and enduring) musical version of Victor Hugo's massive nineteenth century novel. I hereby state my preconceived notions - and hope to explain why I was so ill-opined.
