Review: THE HUMAN BODY, Donmar Warehouse
The departing artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse is going out in a blaze of glory. A starry cast leads Lucy Kirkwood’s latest play, a period piece that, curiously, ties in perfectly with Rufus Norris’ current venture south of the river, Nye. The further end of the 40s has Shropshire shackled by austerity. An engaged member of the Labour party, socialist GP Iris is lobbying in support of Nye Bevan’s radical fight to deliver free healthcare to Britain. Married to an ex-Navy medic turned full-time GP and mother to a young daughter who couldn’t be more different from her, she muddles her family life with her political activity. Everything changes when she meets Hollywood hotshot George Blythe.

Beginning in January, the primetime lineup includes season two of the popular Spanish-language drama LA OTRA MIRADA, the return of fan favorites MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE ON MASTERPIECE and ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL ON MASTERPIECE, and the highly anticipated third season of the murder mystery VIENNA BLOOD.

The Old Vic Announces Two New Specially Commissioned Monologues for QUEERS
The Old Vic today announced the two new specially commissioned monologues for Queers, curated by Mark Gatiss, to mark Pride Month. I Threw It, written by Travis Alabanza and performed by Kim Tatum AKA Mzz Kimberley, and Bee, by Jade Anouka and performed by Pearl Mackie, will be directed by Sean Linnen.
