The Winter Park Playhouse proudly announces that in preparing for the 3rd annual Florida Festival of New Musicals, its submission process attracted 32 new musical works, doubling the amount of new musical submissions from last year.

The Winter Park Playhouse announces the 3rd annual Florida Festival of New Musicals scheduled for June 20-23, 2019. The process for submissions for new musical works to be considered for the Florida Festival of New Musicals will begin this Saturday, September 15, 2018.

The Winter Park Playhouse has been playing to sold out performances of their World Premiere of Gigolo: The New Cole Porter Revue and has added a performance on Friday August 17 at 2 p.m. to meet the strong demand.

The Winter Park Playhouse continues its tradition of excellence for producing professional musical theatre with a World Premiere as its season opener - Gigolo: The New Cole Porter Revue.  This exceptional new work was featured in the theatre's inaugural Florida Festival of New Musicals last summer, and now takes the stage for its first fully produced run July 27 - August 19.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Saturday matinee performances at 2 p.m.and select Friday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

I took a moment to chat with Roy Alan, who serves as the Artistic Director for Winter Park Playhouse about the festival.
