PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.

Le Petit Theatre is kicking-off the holiday season with their first-annual production of Charles Dickens' beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. In addition to spreading holiday cheer, the company intends to make this production a perennial favorite for generations of New Orleanians. Most everyone knows the classic tale of miserly and menacing moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge, but not everyone has experienced watching him learn lessons in love, generosity, and redemption live and in person as he is visited by a host of spirits on Christmas Eve. We all remember hearing of the tragedy of August 9th, 2014 when Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri was shot in killed by police officer Darren Wilson in his attempt to apprehend Brown after a convenience store robbery. It may have been on the other side of the country from us but the racial unrest that followed surrounding the shooting is something that was felt everywhere. But this polarizing issue is a hard one to unpack and discuss especially without the context of being there. Enter Dael Orlandersmith and her one woman show, 'Until the Flood' currently playing at ACT, with its unique and quite complete viewpoint to give us all a new perspective.
