Peter and the Starcatcher, the smash hit Broadway production and winner of 5 Tony Awards, will have its Australian Premiere, touring nationally from 2024.  Originally developed by Disney Theatrical Group, written by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Adams Family), with music by Wayne Barker, this all-new production is directed by David Morton (Holding Achilles, The Wider Earth).  

Dead Puppet Society and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have announced the return of acclaimed production Ishmael from 19 to 27 May 2023 in the Cremorne Theatre.

HOLDING ACHILLES an inventive new work. David Morton and Nicholas Paine in collaboration with Legs On The Wall and Dead Puppet Society have created a new work. Their production stemming from Geek Mythology, details the story of Achilles and Patroclus.

A reimagining of the timeless novel, Moby Dick, for a new millennium, the production is the creative vision of the internationally acclaimed Dead Puppet Society (Laser Beak Man, The Wider Earth) and melds captivating storytelling with live action, live filmmaking, an original score and boundary-pushing visual theatre.

Laser Beak Man is back to save the world and I hope he keeps returning and again and again. A feast for the senses, David Morton, Nicholas Paine and Tim Sharp, alongside make by Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music) create a joyous, vibrant world on stage that explodes in technicolour. The work follows the story of Australian artist Tim Sharp's colourful superhero (which Sharp first drew when he was eleven) and a crystal malfunction that bring characters together despite their differences.

Families are invited to experience an array of engaging and ambitious theatrical adventures and interactive experiences from Australia and beyond as part of Arts Centre Melbourne's 2019 Winter/Spring Families program from June November 2019. This season presents entertaining, inclusive and culturally diverse works spanning dance, music, puppetry and theatre. Young people and their families can enjoy an interstellar adventure designed for children with disabilities, an international dance work inspired by a computer game, an intercultural b*boy battle, hip hop fairy-tale, graphic novel brought to life, quirky puppetry and an indigenous history lesson with a twist.

The National History Museum unveils a brand new theatre in the Jerwood Gallery with Trish Wadley Productions and Dead Puppet Society's The Wider Earth. After sold-out seasons in Australia, it's ready to cast its spell on London as well. The coming-of-age play sees a rebellious and pre-beard Charles Darwin embarking on the voyage that will change his (and our) life.

The award-winning drama tells the story of a young Charles Darwin's around-the-world journey aboard the HMS Beagle - is showing at a purpose-built theatre in London's Natural History Museum. Christie provided the Pandoras Box Players, Pandoras Box Manager and Widget Designer software to control animated projection content for the 11-metre screen, which provides a vibrant and detailed backdrop for the actors and puppets on a revolving stage.

Written and directed by Dead Puppet Society's Creative Director David Morton, The Wider Earth was initially conceived in 2013 in Cape Town during a mentorship with Handspring Puppet Company, the creative team behind War Horse. This visually spectacular production features 30 extraordinary puppets representing the tropical wildlife Darwin encountered on his voyage. The production will have its European premiere in the first performance theatre ever to be built at the Natural History Museum.

In a ground-breaking move for UK theatre, Trish Wadley Productions and Dead Puppet Society will create a 357-seat traditional performance theatre in the Jerwood Gallery at the Natural History Museum to host the European premiere of the award-winning Darwin drama, The Wider Earth.
