The Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the 2023 CMA Touring Awards, which highlight vital behind-the-scenes members of the Country Music touring industry. The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.

On October 26, 2016 Florida Studio Theatre officially broke ground on the Kretzmer Artist Housing Project located on Cohen Way in the growing Rosemary District. In its completion, there will be five new townhouses built to help fill the pressing need for quality housing that is safe, accessible, and within close proximity to downtown.
