BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway cast twice monthly. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida, Footloose, Dance Captain Dance Attack web series, Broadway Con,) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.
Late Spring. Early Summer. An Autumn Afternoon. Am I describing the time periods of 2014's Orlando Fringe darling SEASONS or the seminal works of film director Yasujirō Ozu? Ironically, I had watched Ozu's Late Spring a few days before heading out to Dr. Phillips Center to attend the opening performance of SEASONS. As a result, Ozu's post-war film about parenthood and reluctant marriage was on my mind for much of the show, drawing parallels I had not expected, but certainly welcomed.

Wright State University Theatre concludes its 43rd season in the Festival Playhouse with the Tony Award-winning musical: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, running from March 15th - April 8th. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a musical inspired by the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. Drood became a Broadway smash hit, winning Tony's for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score - all by Rupert Holmes in a tour-de-force creation.
