Like most famous fairy tales given the Hollywood treatment, it's hard to imagine Beauty and the Beast had a life before the big screen; however, the original story is a different beast indeed!

'What do you do when your original plan was to offer an adaptation of a classic novel, but the derivative rights go to the movies? You hope and pray for a talented group of actors who will inspire an original story to be written - and that is exactly what I got with our WITCHES cast,' says Megan Hildebrand, Artistic Director and Founder of the Company. 'With our ever changing world, the arts continue to pivot and adapt...at least The Luckenbooth Theatre does. Giving up is not an option.'

The Luckenbooth Theatre once again encourages the DFW community to join them in the season of giving this holiday! This year's benefit production, The Greatest Gift, is a new stage adaptation of the short story that inspired the beloved movie 'It's a Wonderful Life' and is a Company production - meaning professionals, Repertory Company Members and student actors will all share the stage in this amazingly heartfelt performance. 'I have truly been blessed with a cast of extraordinary talent,' says Director, Megan Hildebrand*. 'It is the perfect story to be told at Christmas time and a wonderful reminder of how precious life, family and the simple gift of kindness can be.'

Luckebooth's new stage adaptation of Sleepy Hollow features student actors, professionals and Repertory Company Members in one stellar cast! The script was written by Artistic Director, Megan Hildebrand*, and has Kamille Isom* in the role of Stage Manager. 'I'm really looking forward to our theatre community seeing this production,' says Hildebrand. 'This is one of the most talented casts I have worked with in a long time - it's truly magical to see these actors of varying experience levels sharing the stage.'

In this new stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Luckenbooth Theatre Academy brings Roald Dahls' words to life from right off the page.

'Inspired by the common film premise of mismatched criminals on a routine job gone wrong, August Riehle brings that same energy to the stage with an original twist.'

Adapted from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Luckenbooth Theatre Academy's Alice, a new musical brings the beloved characters from Wonderland to life with a contemporary twist. Director, Megan Hildebrand, states: 'After casting, we realized we were given a great gift - the opportunity and ability to use each actor's talent to directly influence the way their character was written and developed. All members of the cast and creative team had an equal voice in the room as the script was being devised.'

In this new stage adaptation of Little Women, written and directed by Artistic Director, Megan Hildebrand, The Luckenbooth Theatre Academy brings Louisa May Alcott's words to life from right off the page. "When doing a show like Little Women, it is important to keep the integrity of the original story...especially when it is one of the most beloved stories in all literature," says Hildebrand.

In this new adaptation of the beloved tale, written and directed by Artistic Director Megan Hildebrand, the Luckenbooth Theatre is encouraging their Academy Players and community to give back to those in need this holiday season. 'Luckenbooth does a benefit production annually and, with the launch of our Academy this season, we thought there was no better time to give back to our community than during the holidays - to be able to also get our student actors involved has been amazingly rewarding,' says Hildebrand. There are two, simple ways to contribute: Bring a stamped letter to Santa and drop it off in their mailbox located in their lobby - for each letter received, The Make A Wish Foundation will receive $1. You may also bring an unwrapped toy to place under our Christmas tree - all toys donated will be given to Toys for Tots. If you bring a toy on Industry Night (December 6th), it will count as your admission cost!
