In 1954, Joseph Papp began the first “Shakespeare in the Park” to bring the works of William Shakespeare to public by offering free performances in Central Park. Now many cities around the world offer variations of “Shakespeare in the Park” to their communities. Orangemite is performing “Shakespeare in the Park” in 4 different York, PA parks on June 16, 17, 23, and 24. The June 23rd performance is at Cherry Lane, and the June 24th performance is at Kiwanis Lake. This year’s “Shakespeare in the Park” is performing 3 one Act plays including “As You Like It,” “Romeo y Julieta” and “Henry VI, part one.”

David French’s semi-autobiographical award-winning Canadian classic receives its British premiere 38 years after its debut, but it appears it’s not a timeless play. Much has changed since then and, directed by Peter Kavanagh, Salt-Water Moon comes off as quite the tired shadow of a love story.

All new rehearsal photos have been released from Finborough Theatre’s upcoming production of David French’s Salt-Water Moon.

In a production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, the UK premiere of David French's classic Salt-Water Moon opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 3 January 2023 (Press Nights: Thursday, 5 January 2023 and Friday, 6 January 2023 at 7.30pm). It's a splendid moon-filled night in Coley's Point in 1926.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation has awarded grants to 28 deserving local non-profit organizations in its latest distribution to support issues within the Foundation's focus areas: education, arts & culture, historic preservation and social & health services.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation and its distinguished honorees were celebrated with the pomp and circumstance of a coronation ceremony at this year's Biltmore Ball to benefit the Coral Gables Community Foundation. In the spirit of this year's theme, London Calling, a?oeWindsor Wonderlanda??, 400 of Miami's philanthropic, social, civic and business influencers donned tiaras and sported tails in a nod to ancient and ruling monarchs. The Biltmore Hotel served as the quintessential backdrop to an evening of enchantment and unparalleled elegance as patrons were transported to London while celebrating the Foundation's accomplishments over the last 28 years.

Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education's annual gala, Fiesta, was held at The Plaza Hotel on October 15, 2019. The evening honored Ambassador Mary Dawkins and Brigadier General Peter Dawkins, John Hardy Jewelry, Edgar Legaspi, and Juan Montoya with the Casita Maria Gold Medals of Honor. The evening's host was Sissi Fleitas. The award is bestowed to individuals in recognition of their contribution to the worlds of arts, education and philanthropy. The festive evening began with cocktails, followed by a dinner dance to the tune of Bob Hardwick's Latin inspired tunes.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation today announced its honorees for its annual Biltmore Ball to Benefit the Coral Gables Foundation, to be held on Friday, October 5th  at the Biltmore Hotel. This year's gala will be Un Ballo in Maschera and is titled, Venetian Fantasy.

This July, Giralda Plaza will be transformed into a vibrant and colorful art experience with the installation of the Umbrella Sky Project. Starting Friday, July 13th and continuing over the next two months, hundreds of umbrellas will gently sway over the newly transformed Giralda Plaza, the pedestrian promenade located at the 100 block of Giralda Avenue.

Broadway stars went out in style last night at Second Stage's annual gala. Among those in attendance were Billy Porter, Alice Ripley, Lindsay Mendez, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Tom Kitt, Adam Chanler-Berat, Denee Benton, David Cromer, Itamar Moses, Kellen Blair, and Joe Kinosian.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation recently awarded nearly $80,000 in college scholarships to 16 high school seniors. The Foundation, their donors and the scholarship recipients celebrated at the annual Scholarship Reception hosted jointly with the City of Coral Gables on Thursday, April 26 at the Coral Gables Museum.

The Biltmore Ball to benefit the Coral Gables Community Foundation presented by Paul & Swanee DiMare was held Friday, October 20th at The Biltmore Hotel. Themed Memories of Madrid, the romance, rich heritage and architectural allure of Spain set the scene for the evening as over 400 of Miami's philanthropic, social, civic and business influencers turned out in Spanish flare to celebrate the evening's distinguishes honorees and the Foundation's accomplishments over the last 26 years.

Presented by Mirvish at its most intimate theatre, the 700-seat Panasonic, the play forgoes props, costumes and set pieces, creating something simply beautiful - a love story between two humans.

On Thursday, September 28, the Coral Gables Community Foundation held their Gala Kickoff and Benefactor Reception at the home of Spanish Consul General C ndido Creis Estrada and his wife, Carla. Foundation Board Members, gala sponsors, gala honorees and community leaders joined to celebrate this year's honorees and the successes of the Foundation.
