The Actors Studio will complete its 75th Year Anniversary Season with the final installment of its ongoing “Actors Studio In Process” series. Presented Friday, June 9 and Saturday June 10 at 7PM at The Actors Studio.

On Monday, June 7th the League of Professional Theatre Women presented the 2021 Theatre Women Awards, dedicated to promoting the visibility of the theatrical work of women artists, across all genres

Tony Award-winning theatre producer Daryl Roth and playwright Theresa Rebeck (both Co-Chairs of the LPTW Advisory Council) will introduce the 2021 Theatre Women Awards Virtual Gala and speak about their hopes for the future of the industry, as live theatre returns. The event will be presented virtually by the League of Professional Theatre Women on Monday, June 7 at 7pm.

I recently spoke with writer/performer Mitch Feinstein on this autobiographical journey in FOR LOVE OR MONEY that invites all of us to consider: Can we learn lessons and make changes, or is it too late? Honoring Holocaust Remembrance Day, writer/performer Moti Buchboot brings his solo show Five Pieces of Paper: Stories My Hungarian Grandmother Refused to Tell Me and Other Family Tales to the Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 7, at 8pm. The show received its world premiere (directed by Buchboot and Martha Gehman) in the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival.  Five Pieces of Paper is set to return for five performances in the 2020 HFF this coming June.

Play On Shakespeare today announces an expansive list of compelling actors and dynamic directors confirmed to participate in the Play on! Festival, presented in association with Classic Stage Company (CSC) and Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). Play on! features 39 readings of new, work-in-progress translations of Shakespeare's plays into contemporary modern English by some of today's most exciting playwrights-May 29-June 30 at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at CSC (136 E. 13th Street). In 2015, Oregon Shakespeare Festival launched an ambitious 39-play, three-year commissioning project, Play on!, tasking 36 playwrights-more than half of whom were women and playwrights of color, each paired with a dramaturg-to translate Shakespeare's canon in celebration of the enduring impact of the Bard's work. Supported by a generous grant from the Hitz Foundation and inspired by long-time patron Dave Hitz's passion for Shakespeare, the project was and continues to be led by Lue Morgan Douthit. Writer/performer Moti Buchboot will bring his world premiere solo show Five Pieces of Paper: Stories My Hungarian Grandmother Refused to Tell Me and Other Family Tales to the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival in June. There will be four performances only at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Davidson/Valentini Theatre Monday 6/10 at 8:30pm; Tuesday 6/18 at 6:30pm; Tuesday 6/25 at 8:30pm; and Thursday 6/27 at 6:30pm. Running time will be 70 minutes.
