Actors Theatre welcomes back the award-winning ensemble UNIVERSES (Ameriville, Slanguage, Rhythmicity) for a kinetic mix of poetry, jazz, blues, hip-hop, boleros, salsa, and storytelling. Party People is a dynamic performance that illuminates the complex legacy of these revolutionary movements, and the potential for cross-cultural coalitions to bring power to the people. Performances are in the Pamela Brown Auditorium April 5-16, 2023.

Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) will bring another summer of laughs to the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson. The 2022 summer season starts with the “who’s on first” comedy, The Outsider, by Paul Slade Smith, directed by Julie Anchor, followed by Four Weddings and an Elvis, by Nancy Frick, and directed by Allen Pontes. 

Just because Main Street Theatre Works had to cancel their 2020 Summer season at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre, doesn't mean you can't have fun! MSTW got such great response for their staged-reading of Kong's Night Out, that they decided to present Act I of A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody, August 8th at 7pm on YouTube.

We're counting down the days till the 2nd Annual Plays on the Patio takes place at the Preston Castle, an event not to be missed. Plays on the Patio is a one-night-only event, May 18, 2019, 6:30pm - 9:00pm, at the Preston Castle, 900 Palm Avenue in Ione, CA. Tickets are just $40, which includes wine tasting from seven of Amador's best wineries (Binz, Cooper, E16, Helwig, Karmere, Tanis, & Wine Tree), plus a wine glass to commemorate the event. There will also be a variety of desserts to taste from the National Hotel in Jackson. Tastings begin at 6:30, then at 7:30 guests will be treated to a series of one-acts, scenes and monologs performed by MSTW company actors ~ Julie Anchor, Mallory Broduer, Rick Grant-Coons, Thomas Dean, Bethany Hidden, Jason Kaye, Lee Marie Kelly, Kelley Ogden, Janey Pintar, Brandon Rapoza, Gregory Smith, Earl Victorine, and Kali Wells.

Last year, Main Street Theatre Works teamed up with The Preston Castle Foundation for the first ever Plays on the Patio, a cooperative fundraiser for both parties. It was such a wonderful successs, they're doing it again!

This year, Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) celebrates its 15th Year at the beautiful Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson. Kicking off their 2018 Summer Season, MSTW presents Mama Won't Fly, by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, and directed by Allen Pontes, who brought you last year's huge hit Doublewide, Texas, also by Jones, Hope & Wooten.

This summer, Sierra Stages brings the excitement of the hit musical 'Chicago' to Nevada City with an all-local Nevada County production playing from July 13 through August 5 at the historic Nevada Theatre. Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, 'Chicago' tells the story of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who murders her lover. Desperate to avoid a conviction, Roxie dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn, to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. More than 410 Elly nominees for the 2015-16 season were announced at an informal nomination reception on Sunday, August 7, 2016 beginning at 7pm. More than 100 actors, directors, technicians, and producers were on hand to listen excitedly for their names to be called.  This year's theme is Some Enchanted Ellys. 

Six members of the Blue Mountain Gallery will be represented in an exhibit from today, August 18th, to August 29th. There will be an opening reception on August 20, from 5 to 8.

More than 430 Elly nominees for the 2014-15 season were announced at an informal nomination reception on Sunday, August 2, 2015 beginning at 7pm. More than 100 actors, directors, technicians, and producers were on hand to listen excitedly for their names to be called. This year's theme is How Sweet It Is and featured an assortment of brightly colored candies displayed in decorative candy jars.

Kicking off 3-D's 2014 musical theatre season, The Producers opened February 1, 2014 at 8:00 pm. Performances will continue in Fullerton through Sunday, February 16. 3DT will then move the production to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for its first season of 'extended' performances February 21 - March 2. After being honored by the prestigious LA Stage Alliance with 15 Ovation Award nominations and 5 wins (including Best Musical) for their 2013 production of Jason Robert Brown's Parade, 3DT's Executive Producer/Artistic Director T.J. Dawson said 'What better way to begin a new year season than with the musical that has won more Tony Awards than any other show in history.' Check out the opening night photos below!
