In an effort to engage young, new audiences and offer the opportunity to experience equal representation on stage, the Huntington Theatre Company has announced that it will now offer free tickets to all young patrons 25 and under for the remainder of performances of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is now playing through March 31 at the Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston).

The Huntington Theatre Company digs into the William Shakespeare canon and pulls out a plum written more than four centuries ago. After dusting it off and giving it a spin in the time machine, Artistic Director Peter DuBois has crafted a contemporary, muscular version of the romantic tragedy ROMEO AND JULIET, featuring a who's who of the Boston acting community and introducing a pair of engaging newcomers to the local stage as the ill-fated young lovers. Inspired by the zeitgeist of American tribalism, DuBois' updating affirms the timelessness of one of the Bard's most enduring works.

The new play, commissioned specifically for the Old State House's Through the Keyhole exhibition, reveals life behind the door of the Hancock House, Governor John Hancock's 18th century Beacon Hill home.

The Bostonian Society announces the world premiere of Cato and Dolly, an all-new live play by Playwright Patrick Gabridge at Boston's historic Old State House, running Friday, July 6 - September 29, 2018. The new play, commissioned specifically for the Old State House's Through the Keyhole exhibition, reveals life behind the door of the Hancock House, Governor John Hancock's 18th century Beacon Hill home. In addition to viewing the historic door itself, on public view for the first time in decades, visitors to Through the Keyhole will experience the new 20-minute play which offers a glimpse of everyday life behind the Hancock door through the eyes of those who lived there: Cato Hancock, an enslaved person in the Hancock household and Dolly Hancock, John Hancock's wife and First Lady of Massachusetts. Gabridge's powerful site-specific play at the Old State House, Blood On The Snow, had a sold-out run in 2016-2017 and was called "electric and alive" by WGBH's Jared Bowen.

Verb Ballets continues the legacy of Heinz Poll, founder of Ohio Ballet, at the Akron Civic Theatre on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 8:00pm. Bad Habit Productions inaugurates their 10th anniversary season with the world premiere of Kirsten Greenidge's HOW SOFT THE LINING, a historically-based play about the unusual relationship between Mary Todd Lincoln and her seamstress Elizabeth Keckley, a freed slave. Director M. Bevin O'Gara draws strong performances from Bridgette Hayes, Elle Borders, and versatile, diverse ensemble, to tell a story that resonates on many levels in today's political climate.

Actors' Summit Theater is turning out the lights after 17 seasons of professional theater.  The Board of Trustees decided to close the theater after regretfully accepting the retirement of its Artistic Director, MaryJo Alexander.
