The 111 series has so far seen Carnell collaborate with Keeley Forsyth, Lee Ranaldo, Ben Vince, Yasa Asmar, Coby Sey, KMRU, Okkyung Lee and Wu-Lu. The series will continue into the summer with a release on every third Tuesday. Each piece is accompanied by one of three visual collaborations with Arcin Sagdic.

Brooklyn's acclaimed Brave New World Repertory Theatre will present its 2024 season debut with the world premiere of Leni's Last Lament, a new play that took three top honors at the one-night-only presentation at United Solo Festival in March 2023.

111 is a curatorial statement from one of the UK’s most elusive artists, drawing on visual, recorded and live performance. The series will see 15 collaborations in total, each unfolding as a cycle of single releases, each created with a diverse selection of artists from across the globe. Louis Carnell conceived of 111 to trace the shape of hope.

Returning to Governors Island this coming Saturday is jazz drummer William Hooker. He brings a trio to the Nolan Park section of the island in Building 10B. This free concert is co-presented with the West Harlem Art Fund.

To create the full-length album, Monkman sought Polaris Music Prize inaugural winner Owen Pallett to compose sweeping string arrangements, then performed by the FAMES Orchestra. Grammy nominated Michael Peter Olsen, who is a regular in Zoon’s live band, played on the new record as did Zoon’s drummer Andrew McLeod (Sunnsetter).

On Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 7:30PM, Medeski Martin & Wood's Billy Martin -- a long-time Bergen County resident -- will perform another solo set utilizing percussion instruments, found objects, voice, flutes, bird calls, and more at The Black Box Performing Arts Center, 49 East Palisade Ave between Grand Ave and Dean Street. 

This week, Brooklyn Botanic Garden unveils two new birdhouses by legendary artist George Clinton made exclusively for its For the Birds exhibition. Clinton, the visual artist and musician who revolutionized music and performance in the '70s and '80s through the pioneering work of Parliament-Funkadelic, began painting birdhouses during the pandemic when he ran out of canvases to work on. Clinton's garden in Florida eventually filled with these birdhouses and become a “funk village” for the birds. This summer, Clinton created two new birdhouses for the Garden and For the Birds. Visitors can see the two new birdhouses by Clinton now on BBG's Magnolia Plaza.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, will present the world premiere of A Chronicle of a Pivot at a Point in Time by Jamar Roberts, with music by David Watson on March 20 and 21, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

Bang on a Can announces the launch of LONG PLAY, a new, three-day destination music festival. Originally scheduled for May of 2020, Long Play will be presented for the first time from Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1, 2022.
