Birdland presented singer/actress Linda Purl on the historic stage on Monday, April 1, with Big Band Romance. Ms. Purl was accompanied by the DIVA Jazz Orchestra and musical director Tedd Firth, with special guest singer Nicolas King.
Jazz is about improvising and surprise, and so Janis Siegel stepped in for the under-the-weather booked singer at Dizzy's because the show must go on–even if it's a different one (with the same musicians). Janis Siegel was in great hands with a trio at Dizzy's on March 20th, and the audience gave them a great big hand. Read all about it.
Nicholas Dromard and Desiree Davar, or Nic and Desi as they’re more familiarly known, were utterly charming at their March 23rd show, Bubbles and Taps, at Green Room 42. The married couple are true triple threats. In addition to their singing and acting chops, they’re both trained dancers. Their adorable daughter even made a special appearnace!
Broadway and cabaret star Karen Mason returned to Birdland on Monday, March 25, to share love for one of her favorite songwriters: Jule Styne. See photos from the concert!
Nicolas Dromard and Desiree Davar brought their show “Bubbles and Taps” to Manhattan’s Green Room 42 stage on March 23rd. The show is a perfect blend of full out tap, jazz, & ballroom dancing with genuine full-throated singing in a Pop and Broadway style. There are tributes to both Broadway and some of Bway's favorite stars.
Melissa Errico brought “An Acoustic Evening with Sondheim and Melissa” to the Greenroom 42 stage on March 22nd in honor of Stephen Sondheim’s birthday. Melissa and her musicians - JC Maillard and Thierry Arpino - performed pared down arrangements of Sondheim classics in honor of the man and his time.
Birdland once again presented singer/songwriter Victoria Shaw, who returned to the stage with another one of her award-winning shows, “Under the Covers” on Monday, March 18. Victoria’s special guests were Peter Cincotti, Jim Brickman, Billy Stritch, Josh Turchin, Ruby Locknar, and Ava Locknar.
This past Monday, March 18 marked a homecoming-of-sorts when Nicole Zuraitis returned to Jim Caruso's Cast Party as a newly-minted Grammy winner! See photos of the evening below!

Susie Clausen brings the newest version of 'Saxy Susie' to the stage at Don't Tell Mama. Ms. Clausen takes her passion for the saxophone and singing and updated a charming and ebullient act with some clever new tunes. Directed, written, & arranged by Marilyn Maye. Victoria Elena (& guest singers) brought her show “Confessions of a Professional Princess” to the Greenroom 42 stage in midtown NYC. The show was a tip of the hat and homage to combining her many professional endeavors as an artist. The set list for this show was made up of some of Disney’s most iconic songs and characters.

The Daniel Glass Trio: Daniel Glass (drums), Sean Harkness (guitar), Michael O'Brien (bass) brought their show featuring a tribute to the American tradition of tap dance, songbook standards, and swing to the Birdland Theater in NYC. Guest performers included Broadway & Film singer/dancer Luke Hawkins and Nightclub & Concert singer Eddie Wakes.
