Following a successful first series in 2021, Talawa Stories is returning to BBC Radio 4 with three fresh, powerful audio dramas in 2024, presented by Talawa, the UK’s outstanding Black theatre company.

Winsome Pinnock's new political play finally gets a full run at the National, after its Royal Exchange Theatre premiere was curtailed due to Covid. It's apt since Pinnock began work on the play, which won the 2018 Alfred Fagon Award, while on attachment with the National Theatre's New Work Department in 2016.

The National Theatre has released production images for Rockets and Blue Lights. Directed by Miranda Cromwell, the play was first staged at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester before being cancelled due to Covid-19 and will now open in the Dorfman theatre from 25th August to 9th October 2021.

The Young Vic Directors Program announces the launch of a new, improved Genesis Network website. The website has been updated and developed to better facilitate the community and peer-support at the heart of the Young Vic Directors Program, the only scheme of its kind, which has been running for nearly twenty years. The program currently serves nearly 1,000 directors, designers and producers living in the UK at the early stages of their career.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today announced full casting for Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town. Directed by The Gate Theatre's Artistic Director, Ellen McDougall, the cast is led by Natalie Klamar in the central role of Stage Manager.

Nine Night, Natasha Gordon's critically acclaimed play which transferred from the National Theatre to the Trafalgar Studios in December has been playing to capacity houses. Prior to closing on 23 February an extra matinee at 2.30pm on 20 February has been announced due to popular demand. Tickets for the additional performance are now on sale.

Natasha Gordon takes the role of Lorraine in her debut play, for which she has recently been awarded the Charles Wintour Award for 'Most Promising P' at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. This transfer makes her the first black British female playwright to have a play staged in the West End.

Today USA Network revealed its first trailer for the drama-filled series TEMPTATION ISLAND premiering Tuesday, January 15 at 10/9c. All eyes will follow four dating couples at a most vulnerable time in their relationship, where each will decide whether to commit to a lifetime together - or ultimately give in to the temptation. Together, the couples travel to the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where they join 24 sexy single men and women anxiously awaiting to find 'the one.' The National Theatre have today announced the full cast for Nine Night, Natasha Gordon's critically acclaimed play which will transfer from the National Theatre to the Trafalgar Studios on 1 December 2018 (press night 6 December) in a co-production with Trafalgar Theatre Productions. Natasha Gordon will take the role of Lorraine in her debut play, for which she has recently been nominated for the Best Writer Award in The Stage newspaper's 'Debut Awards'. She is joined by Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Robert), Michelle Greenidge (Trudy), also nominated in the Stage Awards for Best West End Debut, Hattie Ladbury (Sophie), Rebekah Murrell (Anita) and Cecilia Noble (Aunt Maggie) who return to their celebrated NT roles, and Karl Collins (Uncle Vince) who completes the West End cast.

Set in 1958 St Ann's, Nottingham, Shebeen provides a glimpse into the lives of the Caribbean community in 1950s England and focusses on the uncomfortable realities of racial tension within local communities.

NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE has unveiled its updated season programme for 2018, under new Artistic Director Adam Penford. Fresh from the West End, the Playhouse has confirmed that Olivier award-winning actress Rebecca Trehearn will take on the role of Charity in the well-known Broadway musical Sweet Charity - where the cast will be treating audiences to hits such as If My Friends Could See Me Now, Hey Big Spender and The Rhythm of Life.
