Pero attended The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory, toured with jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson. He was featured in the New York Times with friend/mentor Wynton Marsalis. Pero played the part of Nick Radel in the Tony award-winning musical Bandstand directed by Andy Blankenbuehler and written by Richard Oberacker and Rob Taylor. Pero sits on the Liberace advisory board headed by Jonathan Warren and was a performer in the movie Behind the Candelabra starring Matt Damon and Michael Douglas. Pero’s debut record Resonance catapulted him to world-wide recognition in 2009, establishing his unique musical prowess and collaborating with the likes of Phoebe Snow, Freddie Cole and Jack Antonoff. He was a featured performer at the first inauguration of Barack Obama that same year. Pero has performed with the US tour and Vegas residency of "Jersey Boys", Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella", "An American in Paris" and the recent Lincoln Center revival of "My Fair Lady". Pero was most recently seen on the 50th anniversary tour of Jesus Christ Superstar written by Sir Andrew Loyd Webber and Tim Rice before covid-19 halted all Broadway shows and touring companies.
