On Saturday, May 13, 2023, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another first-rate installment of playwright Roger Bean’s Marvelous Wonderettes jukebox musical series, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES DREAM ON, as put on by the Castle Craig Players, at the Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse, in Meriden, CT.

Everyone's favorite female foursome is back, as the Castle Craig Players present the all-new jukebox musical The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On, running May 5-20 at the group's intimate Meriden venue! Meriden's Castle Craig Players have brought back everyone's favorite 'marvelous' quartet to create a brand new new take on the classic song 'Mister Sandman', in response to the current quarantine and COVID-19 crisis.

WINDER WONDERETTES is playwright Roger Bean's new sequel to his previous hit jukebox musical comedy The Marvelous Wonderettes, which the Castle Craig Players produced last year.  The same brilliant director Ian Galligan brings back the same four extremely talented actresses who gel together with tighter harmonies and stronger stage chemistry than many touring bands have ever attained.  Chelsea Dacey, Emma Czaplinski, Jessica Engster, and Jennifer Del Sole reprise their roles of Suzy, Missy, Betty Jean, and Cindy Lou, respectively.  Musical director Chris Coffee leads the three piece backstage live band that accompanies the singers, enhancing the quality of this show that is marvelous all around with excellent acting, singing, dancing, and stage antics.

The Wonderettes are back in town, just in time for the holidays! The Castle Craig Players will present 'THE WINTER WONDERETTES' - the ALL-NEW holiday sequel to last year's sold-out hit ­- November 30-December 15, at their intimate cabaret venue.

This long-running Off-Broadway hit takes you back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic '50s hits including "Lollipop," "Mister Sandman," "Dream Lover," and "Lipstick on Your Collar." Featuring over 30 classic '50s and '60s hits, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane!
