Broadway Records today released THE WELLSONGS PROJECT, a collection of 16 new songs performed by an all-star broadway cast including Kate Baldwin, Christine Andreas, Lisa Howard, Ethan Slater, Jason Gotay, Margo Seibert, Allie Trimm, Lisa Brescia, Bradley Gibson, Halle Hunt, Marissa McGowan, Michael Mendez, Will Reynolds, and Vishal Vaidya.

Disney's Freaky Friday just opened at North Shore Music Theatre. Based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. It was then made into a movie by Disney in 1976 staring Jody Foster and Barbara Harris, with a less memorable movie remake in 2018. It is now a newly created, fun family musical with all the bells and whistles.

Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) continues the 2019 Musical Season with Disney's FREAKY FRIDAY, a brand-new motherdaughter body swap musical playing for two-weeks only from Tuesday, July 9 thru Sunday, July 21, 2019. Following the tragic events that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, the Broadway community will unite with many of the inspiring and world-changing MSD students to perform From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Parkland, USA on Monday, April 16 at 7PM at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL.

HH Productions, LLC, in association with The York Theatre Company will present a special staged reading of the new musical HOWARD, written by Frank Evans (Book and Lyrics) and James Scully (Music), directed by Jennifer Paulson-Lee, conducted by Jeff Saver and musical supervision/arrangements by Scott Cady.  HOWARD will be presented at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (248 West 60 Street, NYC 10023) on Wednesday, January 27th at 1PM; Thursday, January 28th at 1PM; and Friday, January 29th at 1PM. This weekend brought out celebs to Broadway catching ALLEGIANCE with George Takei and Lea Salonga at the Longacre Theatre. Lucy Liu caught the show and joined cast members Michael K. Lee, George Takei, Lea Salonga and Telly Leung onstage for a photo moment. Also seen at performances were Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz (who appeared on the show with Telly Leung) and comedian Gilbert Gottfried.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Aaron Ramey, Jenna Leigh Green, Ashley Loren and Brian Charles Rooney in "Let's Duet!' on Thursday, March 12 at 9:30pm. Let's Duet! will be a fantastic evening celebrating the myriad fantastic ways that two voices have been brought together with powerful and moving melodies. You'll hear songs from Sondheim, The Secret Garden, and Aida, as well as new composers and favorites from radio and film!

Hello, Broadway World! I'm Abigail Shapiro and I'm so excited to be a Broadway World blogger this month. I'm originally from Tampa, FL, but I moved to New York City with my mom and my sister, Milly, when I got the role of Cindy-Lou in Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Milly got the role of Matilda in Matilda, The Musical after our very first Broadway auditions. Both my sister and I are so lucky and grateful to be able to pursue our dreams as performers. And here we are now--I'm actually blogging for BroadwayWorld.com. Wow! And in the same company as some of my Broadway idols, including Andrea McArdle, who I had the chance to perform on stage with recently…but more on that later. Not too long ago, I was a Broadway fanatic pouring through this very website, and so much has happened since then. I am truly honored to be a blogger this month and I hope you enjoy the experiences I share with you over the next couple of weeks.

Last Saturday, Dennis De Young, best known as the main songwriter and singer for the legendary rock band, Styx, paid a visit to Newtown, CT to watch the rehearsals of 12.14 Foundation's 101 DALMATIANS. He wrote the music and lyrics for this version of 101 Dalmatians and even reworked the show just for this program. Scroll down to see the photos!

Merman's Apprentice, a new musical fable with Book and Lyrics by Stephen Cole (Inventing Mary Martin, After the Fair, The Night of the Hunter, The Road to Qatar!) and Music by David Evans (Birds of Paradise, Children's Letters to God) has been chosen to be the opening show as part of London's Landor Theatre's 'From Page to Stage Festival' today, February 11th and 12th at 7:30pm.
