Jacquelyn Ritz BIO

After nearly 15 years as a professional and regional actor in and around Chicago, Jackie and her family are delighted to now call San Diego their home.
She attended her first San Diego audition and was lucky enough to land the role of Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Intrepid Shakespeare. Lately, North Coast Repertory has been her creative home where she performed in Bloomsday, How the Other Half Loves, Sherlock Holmes and the Great Nome Gold Rush, Man with a Load of Mischief, Fallen Angels, Chapter Two, and Fox on the Fairway. She also assisted Tom Markus in directing their critically acclaimed production of Laughter on the 23rd Floor. As a director, she has found herself at Scripps Ranch Theatre and is embarking on her third adventure with them, And Neither Have I Wings to Fly, after having directed Communicating Doors and Accomplice.
In Chicago, she performed with the Goodman Theatre, Northlight, Royal George, Barto (Shakespeare) Productions, The Apollo, Drury Lane, Marriott Lincolnshire, and Peninsula Players. Regional credits include Stephen Sondheim’s Bounce at the Kennedy Center (directed by Harold Prince), productions with Milwaukee Repertory, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Madison Repertory, Asolo Center, and many others.
She will be teaching Acting for the Professional Actor at Scripps Ranch Theatre this winter.

BLOOMSDAY Announced At North Coast Repertory Theatre

North Coast Repertory Theatre launches the new decade with Steven Dietz's lyrical BLOOMSDAY, a time-travel tale set amidst tourists exploring the pubs and streets of James Joyce's 'Ulysses.' This San Diego premiere follows an older couple retracing their steps to rediscover their younger selves. If you've ever wished you could go back and have a second chance at a decision you made back in your 20s, this winsome tale will linger with you. Bloomsday is a sweet and engaging tale with a touch of fantasy, suggesting that with good heart and determination one might literally be able to rewrite the past...perhaps...or at least to believe that one has done so. Don't miss this intelligent, heartwarming play.
