Shadowland Stages announces its joyful return with a wonderful seven-show season including musicals, dramas and rib-tickling comedies. The season is highlighted by two world premieres, including one co-written by Tom Hanks.

The REV Theatre Company in Auburn, New York ends their 2021 summer season with Almost Heaven, The Songs of John Denver under the direction and choreography of Brett Smock. The title says it all, it is in fact over twenty songs by John Denver and others along with orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Jeff Waxman and original concept by Harold Thau.

The Group Rep presents a pay-per-view staged production from the Lonny Chapman Theatre of TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom, from the book by Mitch Albom directed by L. Flint Esquerra, co-produced by Lloyd Pedersen and Gina Yates.   

The Chicagoland premiere of Almost Heaven: John Denver's America opened Sunday night February 16 to an enthusiastic crowd. Theatre at the Center Artistic Director Linda Fortunato cast Shannon McEldowney, Steven Romero Schaeffer, Andrew Mueller, Sara Geist and Tommy Malouf in the musical revue Almost Heaven: John Denver's America to kick off its 30th Anniversary Season. The cast was joined on stage by musicians William Underwood, Malcolm Ruhl and Alison Tatum. Fortunato is the director and William Underwood is the music director. The now Jeff Recommended production continues through March 22.

The new musical Back Home Again, featuring songs by John Denver with book by Stewart F. Lane will have a limited run at The Lesher Center For The Arts from January 11-21.

Fresh after producing the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of DAMES AT SEA, Infinity Theatre Company will return to Annapolis with the first show of their 2016 mainstage season, ALMOST HEAVEN: SONGS OF JOHN DENVER. Infinity's second mainstage show will be announced on April 4th.

The historic State Theatre in Sydney was filled with John Denver fans on Sunday night and they were not disappointed. New Zealander Bevan Gardiner recreates Denver's sound beautifully and even looks like the man he pays tribute to with blonde hair and western shirt. The show, produced with John Denver Management approval and support from Denver's personal manager and friend Harold Thau, is a mix of concert and documentary of Denver's life with projections of archival footage, voice over and live music.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will kick off its 2013-2014 season with a celebration of the music of America's beloved open-hearted troubadour, John Denver, with Almost Heaven, John Denver's America. With songs by John Denver and others, Orchestrations and Vocal Arrangements by Jeff Waxman, Original Concept by Harold Thau, and directed by GET Artistic Director Robert J. Farley, this foot-stomping musical runs September 5-22, 2013, at the Theatre's home, the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, GA. Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN, the critically-acclaimed revival about dirty tricks and double-dealing at a political convention, recoups its investment just as the 2012 Republican National Convention begins. The play will conclude its limited engagement at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) right after the 2012 Democratic National Convention on Sunday, September 9, 2012.
