The Board of Teatro Bravo, one of Phoenix's bilingual theater companies which performs plays about the U.S. Latino experience, has appointed Ricky Araiza as the new artistic director starting in January 2013.
Teatro Bravo brings back '14' by Jose Casas, a play that it originally produced in 2003, chronicling the events in which fourteen immigrants died crossing the desert near Yuma, Arizona. The play is based on interviews with Arizonans and their various different attitudes towards the contemporary issues of undocumented immigration.
