Eric Pfeffinger BIO

Playwright Eric Pfeffinger is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America, East. His plays include Human Error, Some Other Kind of Person, Melto Man and Lady Mantis, The Occupier's Tragedy, and Lost and Foundling, and they have been produced by Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival of New American Plays; the Denver Theatre Center; the Geva Theatre Center; the InterAct; and others.

He has developed plays through workshops and readings with PlayPenn, P73, the Lark's Playwrights Week, the Colorado New Play Summit, the Orlando Shakespeare Festival's PlayFest, Chicago Dramatists, Red Bull, the Rattlestick, and elsewhere. He's written new plays on commissions from the InterAct, the Signature, Imagination Stage, and the Bloomington Playwrights Project. His plays have been published by Dramatic Publishing, Smith & Kraus, Dramatics magazine, HowlRound, and Steele Spring.

Of the Playwrights included in the Festival, Marilyn Zerlak’s two scripts were the best of the lot. FARE TO MIDDLIN’ is a tongue-in-cheek look at what judgment day may look like for folks who think that they may have been just good enough to receive their heavenly reward. Neither of the deceased can see the curveball coming on how their transgressions and sins would be scored to determine their eternal fate. FARE TO MIDDLIN’ had well developed characters and was the most well-written of the seven short plays presented during the program.
