What can be better than watching The Tempest on the night when Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spell was finally broken? Surely, it's a good time to reflect on the play's exploration of power, illusion, loss, revenge and redemption.

Review Roundup: See What Critics Thought of APPROPRIATE

The Donmar Warehouse presents Ola Ince's production of Appropriate by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Let's see what the critics had to say.

BWW Review: APPROPRIATE, Donmar Warehouse

What does a Mr Potato Head have in common with a Zimmer frame? Or a rocking horse with antique lamps? Or an empty crisp packet with a baby's highchair? The answer: all of them and more can be found on Fly Davis's set for Branden Jacobs-Jenkins's Appropriate, which opens in the living room of a grand plantation house. Amidst all this clutter audiences will discover the hideous past of the modern American family.

So I thought, since we can't do Europe this summer, why don't the kids and I just do a little Southern History road trip? We're going to drive back home through Mississippi, Louisiana – all those places – experience some of Daddy's heritage.

BWW Review: THE WILD DUCK, Almeida Theatre

Robert Icke's updating of The Wild Duck gains in contemporary relevance, but loses a little of its heart en route.

BWW Review: AS YOU LIKE IT, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

Reunited following successful runs of The Lorax, the director-composer team of Max Webster and Charlie Fink bring a new version of the Shakespeare classic to the picturesque (and rather appropriate) setting of Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. This well-loved comedy is in demand this year, with it being this year's Shakespeare in the Squares play of choice, and a production also making up part of Michelle Terry's inaugural season at Shakespeare's Globe - coincidentally, the last Shakespeare play performed at this theatre saw Terry starring in Henry V. This particular piece is ideal seasonal fare, however, with love, laughter and hijinks overflowing in the Forest of Arden.
