The Statement of Historical Significance on Streatham Hill Theatre has been produced by Aedas Arts Team, a world leading architecture and design practice for The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre. Velocity and Studio Kate Wallich are excited to announce former Batsheva dancer and internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer, and teacher Tom Weinberger's first evening-length show in Seattle at Velocity May 31 - June 3. Weinberger re-located to Seattle from Israel in Fall 2017, and began creating Familiar Foreign Body while a creative resident of Velocity and a member of Studio Kate Wallich. For this world premiere he is joined by outstanding Seattle dance artists (and frequent Kate Wallich/YC and Velocity collaborators) Lavinia Vago and David Harvey; alongside Bay Area dance artist Courtney Mazeika (recently seen in Chop Shop). Weinberger is known for his complex musicality and striking physicality. He works with subtle nuances celebrating "the dancers' body as an instrument played to its fullest expressive potential". His dances are coherent worlds where dynamics, textures and structures are ever changing.

The American dancer and choreographer Bobbi Jene Smith, having returned to New York City after a decade in Israel performing with Batsheva Dance Company, will offer the NYC premiere of her stirring work Harrowing, as part of Chez Bushwick's 2Night Show March, curated by Celia Rowlson-Hall. For as long as people have created myths, they've told stories about the mysterious powers of poison. But in the natural world, poisons are simply part of the daily struggle to survive. The astonishing variety of evolutionary adaptations among toxic plants and animals is at the heart of this intriguing exhibition, which also examines humans' attempts to understand poisons' potency, how the science of detecting poison developed, and how researchers today use venoms and other natural toxins to develop new medical treatments. Visitors will encounter some of history's most puzzling poisoning cases, use clues to solve poisoning mysteries, and take part in a live theater presentation to help unravel a real-world case of poisoning.

The Museum of Modern Art announces a 14-month initiative to examine new architectural possibilities that address the rapid and uneven growth of six global metropolises: New York, Rio de Janeiro, Mumbai, Lagos, Hong Kong, and Istanbul. Organized by Pedro Gadanho, Curator, Department of Architecture and Design, Uneven Growth: Tactical Urbanisms for Expanding Megacities enlists six interdisciplinary teams of international architecture and urbanism scholars, experts, and practitioners to participate in a series of workshops that begin on October 26, 2013, with each team focusing on a specific city. The resulting proposals will be exhibited at MoMA from November 22, 2014, to May 10, 2015. Uneven Growth is organized by MoMA in collaboration with the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), Vienna.

At Skylight Opera Theatre's Annual Meeting on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Skylight's Managing Director, Amy Jensen, announced that the theater ended the 2010-2011 season with a net increase of $30,000 in total assets, pending final audit results. Total net assets remain at approximately $4.7 million, including $2.5 million in endowment investments.
