Slow Burn Theatre Company to Stage HEAD OVER HEELS
Slow Burn Theatre Company and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts invite audiences to Head Over Heels, the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening, from June 10-26, 2022. The musical is presented by American National Bank and sponsored by the Josephine S. Leiser Foundation and Funding Arts Broward, Inc. (FAB!). Set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s and featuring a book by Jeff Whitty and adaptation by James Magruder, this laugh-out-loud love story is directed by Patrick Fitzwater.

Slow Burn Theatre Company returns to open its highly anticipated 2021/2022 season in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts with Songs for a New World from Tuesday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, Oct. 24. Darius J. Manuel to Compete in NSAL National Drama Competition
Darius J. Manuel dazzled the judges at the NSAL Florida East Coast Drama Competition held recently at The Crest Theatre at Old School Square. Darius won the $2,000 first prize and an all-expense paid trip to compete at the NSAL National Drama Competition in Washington, D.C. Manuel lives in Lauderhill and is the Teaching Artist/Director of the Florida Children's Theatre in Fort Lauderdale.

RAGTIME: Florida Children's Theatre Raises Their Voice
The Florida Children's Theatre raises their voices, taking on Ahrens and Flaherty's most complex score, 'RAGTIME'. Teaming up, this time around, to lead this production are the powerhouse directing duo of Sean Cutler & Darius J. Manuel. Both of these fiery and thought-provoking directors are the most recent BroadwayWorld Award winners for 'Best Director of a Musical' for their work at the Florida Children's Theatre: Sean Cutler for 'Sweeney Todd' in 2015 and Darius J. Manuel for 'Carrie the Musical' in 2016, which also won him the Best Choreographer Award and Best Musical for the company! With both of their energies and visions spearheading this project, it is bound to resonate deep in our souls and ring throughout the community.
