The Board of Directors for Alberta Theatre Projects has announced Calgary's own Haysam Kadri as the company’s permanent Artistic Director.

Alberta Theatre Projects, celebrating 49 years this coming season, is airing the seventh and final reading of their 2021 Playwrights Projects on Friday May 28th 2021 over Zoom. The company is known for original plays and adaptations of Canadian works, pulling from artists all over the country. I sat down with Interim Executive Director (formerly General Manager) Kyle Russell to talk about how the company has navigated the leap to digital media.

Alberta Theatre Projects is thrilled to announce the appointment of Haysam Kadri as Interim Artistic Director. As a long-time friend and collaborator with Alberta Theatre Projects, Kadri is stepping into this role to support the company during this transitional period. Kadri joins Interim Executive Director Kyle Russell, formerly the General Manager of Alberta Theatre Projects.

Alberta Theatre Projects is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Darcy Evans, Executive and Artistic Director. Evans died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Evans had been battling cancer since March, and he unfortunately lost this fight yesterday afternoon.
