PNC Foundation has awarded $100,000 in grants through PNC Arts Alive, to seven arts organizations in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The Roaring Twenties became the Roaring 2020s at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's annual gala last night. Amazon.com and retail establishments in Florida must have run out of Flapper dresses leading up to this exciting event as most of the women wore the traditional 1920's dresses to the gala put on by Florida's largest regional theatre.

ArtServe, South Florida's historic arts incubator and innovative creative laboratory, which supports nonprofit organizations with the goal of building stronger and more vibrant communities through engagement in the arts, was awarded a $15,000 grant from the PNC Foundation through PNC Arts Alive.

Two local students are on their way to New York City next month to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards - also known as the Jimmy Awards - representing Palm Beach County. The students will also experience a weeklong musical theater intensive with Broadway artists, thanks to being selected the top student performers at the second annual Kravis Center Dream Awards.

Tickets are now on sale for the Kravis Center Dream Awards: Celebrating High School Musical Theater Excellence. This showcase performance event will be held at 7 pm on Sunday, May 12, at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts' Dreyfoos Hall and will feature student performers from 14 local high schools - four more than last season. Ticket prices start at $15 and featured musicals will include The Addams Family, Amelie, Chicago the Musical and Miss Saigon, among other favorites.

Ticket prices start at $15 and featured musicals will include Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie, The Drowsy Chaperone, Fiddler on the Roof, Ghost, Hairspray, Kiss Me Kate, Legally Blonde, Oliver! The Musical, Sweet Charity and White Christmas.

Five Broward County arts organizations will receive funds totaling $65,000 this year from the PNC Foundation's Arts Alive program. The grants are part of a three-year, $170,000 award PNC recently announced at the Broward County Commission.

PNC is now accepting grant proposals for $10,000 and above from qualified arts organizations that support fresh and emerging arts programs, value-added public programming and creative use of technology, while seeking to expand audiences. Proposals are due by June 15.
