Amas Musical Theatre's Rosetta LeNoire Teen Academy to Present JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR


Amas Musical Theatre's (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present Jesus Christ Superstar, a Rock Opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.  The story is loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus's life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion.

RunningSeptember 3-October 13, the show's sumptuous costumes, elegant settings and Shavian wit will raise a champagne toast to a year of celebration at The Pearl, where Shaw, following Shakespeare, has been the second most produced playwright in The Pearl's history. Abingdon Theatre Company - which has produced more than 78 new American plays in its 20-year history - continues its 2012-2013 Season with the world premiere of BODEGA BAY by Elisabeth Karlin (THE MOONCALF), set to begin previews Friday, January 25, prior to its official press opening February 3, at Abingdon Theatre Company's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Sturgis Warner, who recently helmed Najla Said's PALESTINE, directs. Performances run through February 17.
