Established in 2009, the 503Five is a scheme for UK-based writers who have developed their craft to a high standard but are not yet professionally produced.
The National Theatre today released rehearsal images for Death of England: Closing Time. Deputy Artistic Director, Clint Dyer and acclaimed playwright, Roy Williams, have reunited to write this powerful new play, which is the final, standalone chapter of their award-winning Death of England series.

Chosen from 548 applicants, they receive a £2,000 seed commission to write their full-length professional debut, as well as creative support from Theatre503 over 18 months. The 503Five is made possible through the support of the Carne Trust and The Orseis Trust.

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

Theatre503 has announced ERIN DOHERTY and SOPHIE MELVILLE as the cast for 503Five playwright Ross Willis' debut play Wolfie. Erin was recently featured by the Evening Standard as a 'rising star' and plays Princess Anne in the forthcoming series of Netflix hit The Crown. Sophie's credits include Iphigenia in Splott, for which she received The Stage Award for Acting Excellence and Wales Theatre Award for Best Female Performance, and nominations for Evening Standard Award for Best Actress and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.
