The Palm Beach Poetry Festival's Director Susan R. Williamson and Dr. Blaise Allen, Director of Community Outreach, today invited local poets and poetry fans to nine upcoming literary events this fall.

The Crucible (1953) is a partially fictionalized narrative of the Salem witch trials which occurred in Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 to 1693, written by American playwright Arthur Miller.

There are three new events being unveiled at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Thursday evening: Lit Live, a new local production company, And Lightning Struck, a new play written by the eminent local actor and producer Robert Weibezahl, and a new director, 21-year-old Austin Robert Miller. The show plays for only four performances this weekend. We spoke with Weibezahl and Miller about their new creation, a play about creation itself, the subject being the story behind the writing of one of the most famous novels in English literature, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center's production of Mel Brooks' hilarious musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN will play April 19 - May 25 with performances on Friday and Today at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Ellie Kemper's mother might be a bit mad. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MADTV alum Stephnie Weir has reportedly signed on to star as Kemper's mom on NBC's upcoming single-camera comedy pilot BRENDA FOREVER.
