The world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! is currently running at La Jolla Playhouse following a previous run at Berkeley Rep.

Due to demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Kiss My Aztec! will extend for an additional week of performances. The high-energy show directed by Artistic Director Tony Taccone and co-written by Taccone and John Leguizamo was originally scheduled to close on July 14, but will now run through Sunday, July 21.

The world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! is currently running through July 14 at Berkeley Rep.

The Casting Society of America (CSA) has revealed its first-round nominees for the 31st Annual Artios Awards across the theater, television, web series and short film categories. This year, the Television Animation category has been divided into two categories: Television Animation-Adult and Television Animation-Children. All winners will be announced at the 31st Annual Artios Awards at the height of awards season on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

"We've held the Awards in San Francisco for years, and the East Bay is past due," said Theatre Critics Circle President Barry Willis. "Award Galas can get tedious, so Vice President Linda Ayres-Frederick came up with the idea of a dance party," Willis said. "If you draw a line from north to south and east to west through the nine Bay Area counties we serve, the nexus falls in Oakland. And we found this true gem of a venue called the California Ballroom in the safe and accessible downtown business district of Oakland a half block from 19th St. BART with lots of street parking around, so everything fell into place!" Willis commented.

The SF/Bay Area THEATRE CRITICS CIRCLE 2012 AWARDS will happen on MONDAY MAY 6, at their "Gala Theatre Awards & Dance Party". For the first time in the East Bay, the venue for the Gala will be the California Ballroom, 1736 Franklin St., Oakland.
