Dean Allyson Green is a choreographer, visual artist, curator and arts educator. Dean Green is a full professor in the Tisch School of the Arts Department of Art and Public Policy, with an affiliation in the Department of Dance, and will continue to teach in both areas.

The Kitchen to Present 2023 DANCE AND PROCESS in June


The Kitchen, in collaboration with the American Academy of Art and Letters, will present Dance and Process, the series that brings dance artists into a group process interrogating methods of choreographic and dance practice, with artists challenging default structures in their own work and the field at large.

Over 450 alumni, donors and supporters gathered at St. Ann's Warehouse on Monday night for the NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2019 Gala, honoring notable alumni Susan Kelechi Watson and Sharon Chang. The event featured several performances by current Tisch students in tribute to the two honorees. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and Martin Scorsese served as honorary co-chairs for the evening. In attendance were NYU Tisch Dean Allyson Green, NYU Provost Katherine Fleming, Grammy Award-winning music executive Clive Davis and Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad. Nearly $1 million was raised to support critical needs of talented Tisch students.

The Paul Dresher Ensemble Presents SCHICK MACHINE


The Paul Dresher Ensemble Presents the music theater production Schick Machine September 23-25 on San Francisco's Z Space Main Stage prior to tour. Directed by Rinde Eckert virtuoso percussionist Steven Schick inhabits a fantastical stage filled with huge invented instruments and sound sculptures - including the Hurdy Grande, the Tumbler, the Field of Flowers and the Peacock (a deconstructed pipe organ). After the performance, the audience is invited onstage to engage and explore a kind of audio "maker" sound and visual domain. The production was described at its debut as 'fresh and surprising...often mind-blowing' LA Times

NYU Tisch to Honor Tisch Family at 50th Anniversary Gala


December 15, 2015: NYU Tisch School of the Arts today announced its 50th Anniversary Gala, Celebrating the Past/Creating the Future, to be held on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The event will be hosted by alumni Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee and will honor the contributions of the Tisch family. All proceeds from the gala will go towards scholarship funds to support talented students for the next half century.

NYU's Tisch School of the Arts to Build Proscenium Theater


?Allyson Green, dean of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, has announced that noted philanthropist, businesswoman, and Tisch Dean's Council member Iris Cantor is giving $10 million to support the construction of NYU's first professional proscenium theater.  The performance space - part of a planned multi-use building on Bleecker St., due to break ground next year - will be named the Iris Cantor Theater.

In recognition of the ongoing support provided by the family of actor, director, comedian, writer, and Tisch alumnus Billy Crystal, Tisch Dean Allyson Green announced yesterday that Tisch School of the Arts will officially rename its theater at 111 Second Avenue the 'Jack Crystal Theater,' in memory of Crystal's father, jazz impresario Jack Crystal.
