Review: RUN FOR YOUR WIFE at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse Keeps the Laughs Coming

The Hunterdon Hills Playhouse is presenting the outrageous adult comedy, Run For Your Wife by Ray Cooney, adapted and directed by Ken Schwarz. The Playhouse, well known for its entertainment and dining, is delighting audiences with this new American version of the play. The show will be onstage through October 18. Run For Your Wife was seen on Broadway in 1989, had a film adaptation in 2013, and has been produced around the world.

Two wives, two homes, and one very busy man. John Smith is a taxi driver who juggles a dual life with his wife, Mary who lives in Jersey City and Barbara who resides in Bayonne. When John has an accident and winds up in the hospital, the two addresses on his records cause confusion and detectives come to visit his homes. John goes into a panic when he realizes that his wives may discover each other. That's when John's friend and neighbor, Stanley gets involved to cover for him, but the confusion only escalates. Angry wives, curious cops, wild alibis, mistaken identities, and colorful characters add to the hilarity of the fast-paced, raucous story. Audiences will have fun wondering just what will happen next.
