Theatre Tulsa Next Stage Presents THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

Theatre Tulsa will conclude its historic 96th Season with the award-winning play, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time."

The show brings Mark Haddon's best-selling novel to thrilling life on stage, adapted by two-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens.

The premiere run of the play in England tied the record for winning the most Olivier Awards (seven), including Best New Play at the 2013 ceremony. After coming to the U.S., it won the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, 2015 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Play, the 2015 Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Play, and the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play.

The plot follows tenacious and intelligent Christopher Boone, an autistic teenager who's better at solving equations than navigating a world that's stubbornly out of sync with how his mind works. After being wrongly accused of murdering his neighbor's dog, he resolves to find the real culprit. However, when his investigation uncovers painful truths about his family, he dares to strike out on his own, embarking on a thrilling adventure that upturns his whole world.

Theatre Tulsa Next Stage features new and challenging local theatre as a supplement to Theatre Tulsa's regular season of mainstage shows. Theatre Tulsa Next Stage typically produces at least one additional work per season.

The cast stars Knox Blakely as Christopher, Karlena Riggs as Siobhan, Jeff Huston as Ed and Kristin Robert as Judy.

The Ensemble Company includes Susan Apker, Andy Axewell, Brian Grace, Angela McLaughlin, Anna Puhl and Andrew Smith.

The production is directed by David Blakely.

Performances will be May 17-26 in the Liddy Doenges Theatre of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Evening showtimes on May 17-18 and 24-25 are at 8 p.m. Matinees on May 19 and 26 will be at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at tulsapac.com or by calling 918-596-7111.
