Theatre Tulsa is continuing its Broadway Series of popular musicals with the classic "My Fair Lady."

Based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, "My Fair Lady" concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so that she can pass as a proper lady. The original Broadway and London productions starred Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews.

The musical's 1956 Broadway production was a notable critical and popular success. It set a record for the longest run of any show on Broadway up to that time. It was followed by a hit London production, a popular film version, and many revivals - including a 2018 Broadway revival that opened last April.

The cast stars Mark Frie as Professor Higgins and Tabitha Littlefield as Eliza Doolittle. Other featured actors include: Kurt Harris as Col. Hugh Pickering, John Orsulak as Alfred Doolittle, Vivica Walkenbach as Mrs. Higgins, Cathy Woods as Mrs. Pearce and Connor Blakely as Freddy.

The ensemble features: Amanda Merkel, Cody McCoy, Conor Yob, Hannah Hendersen, Hillary Pane, Jacob Bush, Jeff McCollum, Katherine Bates, Kimberly Wall, Lauren Steele, Mike DeMarco, Nan Kemp, Pat Hobbs, Paul Henry, Rachel Molinari, Savannah Whalen, Tamara Faylor, Todd Malicoate, Veronica Smith, Kaci Coldren and Steven Lambie.

The production is directed by Vern Stefanic.

Performances will be Feb. 22 through March 2 in the John H. Williams Theatre of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Evening showtimes on Feb. 22-23 and Feb. 28, March 1-2 are at 8 p.m. Matinees on Feb. 24 and March 2 will be at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at tulsapac.com or by calling 918-596-7111.
