Now I am Dead Presents THE MOST HUMOROUS AND TRAGIC TALE OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S SHAKESPEARE

Now I am Dead Production's "The Most Humorous and Tragic Tale of William Shakespeare's Shakespeare" invites you to share in the Meta biographical chaos, love, humanity and life of the Bard.

The debut production of "Now I am Dead Productions," this play is the first of a trilogy of Meta biographical productions. These productions will explore the lives of famous literary and cultural figures in original scripted productions that shape them as flawed but realized humans. This production has gone through a three year writing process and two different work in progress run throughs in 2018 with valuable feedback from our audience members. With that feedback we are pleased to present the final polished version of this humorous and tragic story.

This comedic tragedy comes from playwright Liam Edward Grunté and a team of Ontario theatre talent to bring this surreal satirical but also grounded vision of William Shakespeare. Not of his plays nor his reputation. Rather just him as a friend, him as a father, him as a husband, him as a human being. Seeing this vision through a combination of music, slapstick comedy and original iambic verse.

"What is my legacy?" "How do I keep going on?" "How did I wake up in a barn?" These are just a few of the questions that William Shakespeare finds himself in our Meta biographical tale. Starting from his life as a rock star playwright to his passionate love with Anne Hathaway and his final moments. Our tale invites the audience to share in his misadventures but also in his own turmoil that reflects the questions that humans find themselves asking of their own life. In fair Toronto we share our scene because it is indeed a Most Humorous and Tragic Tale of William Shakespeare's Shakespeare.

Guided by director and playwright Liam Grunté, the Now I am Dead Productions cast includes: Courtney Keir, Isaac Lloyd, Chloe Nava, Cole Larson, David Carcasole, Joseph Chan, Anna Mallard, Luca Brunato, Nikolai Afanasev, Sara Masciotra-Milstein and Rob Wierzbicki.
