The Town Hall presented Broadway By The Year: Volume 1: Broadway Musicals of 2000-2004 on Monday, February 24 at 8pm. Created, written, hosted and directed by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall, the evening launched Broadway By The Year©'s 20th landmark season at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).
AVENUE Q became an overnight sensation on Broadway in July 2003 following a sold-out engagement and was extended four times after being presented Off-Broadway by Vineyard Theatre and The New Group. Since it roared into the spotlight - with its singular cast of people and puppets including Princeton, Kate Monster, Rod, Nicky, Trekkie, Christmas Eve, Gary Coleman and Lucy T. Slut - opening on Broadway on July 31, 2003, AVENUE Q has given over 6,000 performances, running seven years on Broadway before transferring to New World Stages in 2009, where it continues to play to large and happy houses.
Committed - a fictionalized account of the last two days of the Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh - written by Natalie Menna and directed by Brock Harris Hill concerns Van Gogh worked with the Somali-born writer and politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali to produce the short film, Submission (2004), which exposed the treatment of women, and resulted in an outrage from the Dutch Muslim community. He was murdered in November of 2004.
After 21 years as the cabaret light and sound guy, ministry was the only place left for Shawn Moninger to go. Now it;s 10 years later and Shawn returned to a club and made his cabaret debut last night at the Metropolitan Room. Mazeppa Productions will be the first resident theatre company to bring the 2004 Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q to life in Philadelphia. AVENUE Q's opening on July 11, 2013 will mark the start of Mazeppa's third season of musical productions as well as its second season at the Christ Church Neighborhood House Theater in Old City, Philadelphia. Director Rob Henry, choreographer Robert Harris, and music director Eric Thompson will lead the eleven person company in staging the hilarious musical that is part flesh, part felt, and full of heart! Cloud Atlas is an epic adventure-drama film written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer (also co-composer), and Andy Wachowski. This was the most anticipated keynote speaking event that the BookExpo experienced since Bill Clinton did the same event in 2004. People lined up a day early to secure tickets to be sure that they would see Barbra, and they did - in a new light and interviewed by the equally well known in popular culture - Gayle King, who is now a New Yorker.

Euan Morton used the writings of John Lennon and his son Julian as well as John Denver and Nik Kershaw to create an evening of poetry and song entitled 'Stranger in a Strange Land.' 'Stranger in a Strange Land' will be performed at the Metropolitan Room Sundays, October 5, 12, and 19 at 9:30 PM. There will be a $30 cover and two beverage minimum. These performances over the month of October will be the first time in a long time that Euan has performed some of the signature material from the musical 'Taboo' and the first time he and his accompanist, Bryan Reeder, will have played their new material in public.
Euan Morton, a native of Scotland, received an Olivier Award nomination for originating the role of Boy George in the musical 'Taboo.' He moved to New York in 2003 to reprise the role on Broadway, earning Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Award nominations, as well as the Theatre World Award (for Outstanding Broadway Debut). He earned a 2006 Obie Award for his appearance in 'Measure For Pleasure' at the Public Theatre. His other stage appearances include title roles in: Tony Kushner's adaptation of 'Brundibar' at the New Victory Theatre and Berkeley Rep; 'The Who's Tommy' at the Bay Street Theatre; and 'Caligula' for the inaugural season of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (2004 NYMF Award for Outstanding Individual Performance). Off-Broadway, Euan appeared opposite Alfred Molina in 'Howard Katz' at the Roundabout Theatre. Most recently Euan was seen on Broadway in the 2007 revival of 'Cyrano de Bergerac.' On film, Euan can be seen in the documentary 'Showbusiness: The Road to Broadway' which follows the history of a Broadway season and is now available on DVD.
Euan has recently released his debut solo CD, 'NewClear,' and has appeared in concert in New York City at the Oak Room at the Algonquin, Town Hall, the Metropolitan Room, the Zipper, Joe's Pub and Birdland, as well as at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. In addition, he has conducted master classes in the craft of acting and singing around the country.

108 Waverly features the lives of 2 gay couples, one set in 1928 the other in 1998. The 1928 couple is deciding whether or not they can move in together, while the 1998 couple is discussing adopting a child. The show featured Jamie McGonnigal, Chris Weikel, Patrick Porter and Alex Quiroga.
