Performances begin TONIGHT for the Shakespeare on the Sound's immersive production of Macbeth. Directed by Artistic Director Claire Shannon Kelly, Macbeth will transform the idyllic Pinkney Park (177 Rowayton Avenue, Norwalk, CT) on the Five Mile River to the eerie Scottish Highlands to create an immersive experience for the audience; Macbeth's journey will be their journey too.  

Following a yearlong artistic collaboration with French theatre luminary Georges Bigot, renowned theatre company, Theatre Y, presents the inaugural production of the newly formed Theatre Y Ensemble with William Shakespeare's MACBETH, running now through December 4, at the historic Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. The Old Globe presents the first offering in the 2016 Summer Shakespeare Festival: William Shakespeare's thrilling classic Macbeth, directed by Brian Kulick, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company and a leading Shakespearean expert. The so-called 'Scottish Play' runs now through July 24, 2016, in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. The brilliantly creative mind of Michael Keith Allen has worked wonders with a new re-telling of Shakespeare's MACBETH at the Art of Acting Studio by setting the tragedy in a postmodern Scotland where street thugs battle for leadership as well as territory, while cutting the run time to 90 minutes and allowing the actors to speak without heavy accents, making it easy to understand the dialogue and follow the plot and character development. It is definitely the best rendition of the classic I have ever seen.

Directed by Edward Torres, MACBETH is currently touring the five boroughs though May 14, and will have a sit-down run at The Public Theater, May 17 through June 7, with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 20. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

The Acting Company in association with The Guthrie Theater presents William Shakespeare's "Macbeth," directed by Devin Brain, Friday, March 20, 8 p.m.; and "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," adapted by acclaimed playwright Jeffrey Hatcher from the novel by Mark Twain, directed by Ian Belknap, Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m. Both performances take place at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd., on the campus of College of DuPage. The Old Globe's sixth annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive presented its culminating performance on Monday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. with performances of 50-minute versions of Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Macbeth in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Macbeth, Jamie Lloyd's inaugural production in a season of work for Trafalgar Transformed, will be staged at Trafalgar Studios from 9 February until 27 April, with press night on 22 February 2013. Design for Jamie Lloyd's season is by Soutra Gilmour, who won the 2012 Evening Standard Award for Best Design for Inadmissible Evidence at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Lloyd, and Antigone at the National Theatre.
