Casting has been revealed for TimeLine Theatre Company’s The Lifespan of a Fact, a comedic showdown between truth and fact, set in the world of non-fiction publishing, based on true events, running November 1 – December 23, 2023.

Photos have been released of the re-opening cast of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning Off-Broadway production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, starting performances tonight, “on the twenty-first day of the month of September” at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).

As 2019 comes to a close, we're taking a look back on some of the most memorable performances of the year.

2019 brought us a slew of new shows on Broadway and beyond. From fan favorites like Be More Chill, and Beetlejuice, smash hits like Moulin Rouge! and Hadestown, to plays such as Slave Play, Betrayal, and The Rose Tattoo, this year had something for all theatre fans to enjoy.

As we say goodbye to this year, we're flashing back to the opening nights of the shows of 2019. Take a look back at the casts taking their opening bows!

Actors Theatre of Louisville presents Fifth Third Bank's A Christmas Carol, beginning November 23 in the Pamela Brown Auditorium. Tickets are now available at ActorsTheatre.org. 

The Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) production of A Christmas Carol will open Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. The show will run in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre at OCP from Nov. 15 through Dec. 23.

LOMBARDI is a theatrically compelling play about obsession, perfection, and winning. Adapted from David Maraniss' book When Pride Still Mattered -- A Life of Vince Lombardi, Firehouse's LOMBARDI runs from Thursday, November 7 thru Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Emmy and 2019 Tony Award-winning actor, singer, dancer, director, choreographer, playwright and educator André De Shields received the 2019 Project1Voice Lifetime Achievement Award.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Mary McDonnell tackles the title role of Gloria Steinem in Emily' Mann's Gloria: A Life, the opening production in McCarter Theatre Center's 2019-2020 Theater Series.

Permafrost Theatre Collective, in partnership with The Chameleon Fools Theatre Troupe and in association with C venues, present a new Wonderland tale at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe.

Newly anointed Tony winner Andre De Shields capped off the theater award season by receiving the 2019 Richard Seff Award at Equity's Eastern Regional Board meeting on June 11th at Equity's office in New York.

As previously announced, Sea Wall / A Life, which recently played to sold-out audiences at The Public Theater, will open on Broadway this summer.  Written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively, directed by Carrie Cracknell, and starring Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, who received a Drama League Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, and Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge who received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, Sea Wall / A Life will begin performances on Friday, July 26 at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street), with the opening night set for Thursday, August 8.

Not all actors can boast credits in theatre, television, and film, but Angela Grovey can. Grovey, who plays stage manager Annie in the hilarious The Play that Goes Wrong, spoke with me over the phone about her life in entertainment and about her charitable work with Covenant House, a national shelter for homeless youth.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America held the annual Pacific Youth of the Year Celebration on May 9, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Club alumnus Mario Lopez received the prestigious Champion of Youth Award, and Sabrina McFarland from Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, was named the 2019 Pacific Youth of the Year. Television and radio personality, Rocsi Diaz was emcee. The evening fundraiser featured vocal performances by Club members from Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice, Boys & Girls Clubs of Burbank, and a dance performance by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley.  John Lynch, General Manager of the San Francisco 49ers, Steve Layton, Principal and Co-Founder of LBA Realty, and Byron Roth, Chairman and CEO of ROTH Capital Partners, co-chaired the event. Celebration attendees included Lance Bass, Jake T. Austin, Anthony Lanier II, and Camila Banus.

The Old Globe presents the U.S. premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical withbook, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson, directed by the Globe's own Barry Edelstein, opening Friday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. Withchoreography by Ann Yee and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Lynne Shankel, Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28. Life After is produced by special arrangement with Yonge Street Theatricals, Linda Barnett, and Natalie Bartello. Single tickets start at $32.00 and are now on sale. A DJ table, projector screen and one performer, sets the stage to reflect on the life of writer/poet Jason Bayani. As stated in the spoken prologue of the piece, Bayani does not perform characters, he will always be himself reflecting on his life and past experiences. Starting from his beginnings, onlookers experience a historical crash course in the Philippine's relations to the United States and more importantly Bayani shares the story of his family first immigrating to the California. Reminiscing about his childhood and sharing universal experiences of music and love, he ventures deeper into the bits that have him hit close to home. Using the formula of macro to micro experiential examination, the show travels time and distance with Bayani exposing the composition of what makes him unique. Moving from childhood to adulthood, LOCUS OF CONTROL explores both the deep and shallow experiences that make up a life.

A sold-out house of theater patrons and supporters shared in the excitement when Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts' Artistic Directors, Kelly Fouchi and Gary Rucker revealed the popular and diverse line-up of productions for the 2019-2020 season Sunday evening, January 27 at the theater in Kenner's historic Rivertown.
