The new musical comedy Beetlejuice will open on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on April 25, 2019, but first the musical will have its world premiere at the National Theatre in Washington D.C., officially opening on Sunday, November 4, 2018. This evening, 22 October 2018, Sony Music Masterworks together with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Producers launched The Music of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, an album of music by Grammy and Ivor Novello Award-winning composer and innovator Imogen Heap from the internationally acclaimed stage production.

The 2018 Jimmy Awards took place on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 7:30pm at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. Laura Benanti hosted. The coveted Jimmy Awards for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor were presented to Renee Rapp, The Blumey Awards (Charlotte, NC) and Andrew Barth Feldman, The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (New York, NY).

The American Theatre Wing's 72nd Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles, aired live from Radio City Music Hall on the CBS Television Network Sunday, June 10th, honoring theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway.

King Kong will open at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) on November 8, 2018. Preview performances will begin Friday, October 5, 2018. King Kong will star Christiani Pitts, currently starring in A Bronx Tale on Broadway, as Ann Darrow, and Eric William Morris, who played Sky in Mamma Mia!, will play Carl Denham.

The new West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child began performances at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on 23 May 2018. Jamie Ballard plays Harry Potter, Susie Trayling plays Ginny Potter and Joe-Idris Roberts plays their son Albus Potter. Thomas Aldridge plays Ron Weasley with Nicola Alexis as Hermione Granger and Helen Aluko as their daughter Rose Granger Weasley. Playing Draco Malfoy is James Howard with Jonathan Case as his son Scorpius Malfoy.

New York Theatre Workshop held it's 2018 Annual Gala last night, April 15. The gala celebrated John Tiffany, the Tony Award-winning Director of Once, which had its world premiere at NYTW, as well as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; along with Barbara Cutler Emden, who is celebrating 25 years of arts advocacy and exceptional service on the NYTW Board of Trustees.
